Draft: standard terms for a small UK online shop. Fill in the business name, legal form (sole trader or company, with company number), address and VAT number if registered. This isn’t legal advice, so have it checked before launch.
About us
This website is run by [business name], [sole trader / company registered in England and Wales, number …], of [address]. Email: [email address]. These terms apply to every order you place with us.
Your order
When you place an order you’ll receive an email acknowledging it. A contract is formed when we email to confirm your order has been dispatched. If we can’t fulfil your order (for example, if an item is out of stock), we’ll tell you and refund any payment in full.
Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you pay. Payment is taken when you place your order. If we’ve made an obvious pricing error, we’ll contact you before dispatch and you can choose to continue at the correct price or cancel.
Delivery
We deliver to UK addresses only. Delivery times are on our delivery page. The goods are your responsibility once they’ve been delivered to the address you gave.
Cancellations and returns
Your right to cancel, and the exceptions for perishable and unsealed goods, are explained on our returns page, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Using our products
Please follow the rules of the water you fish, including any bait bans and limits, and the storage instructions on our baits. Keep hooks and other terminal tackle away from children.
Our liability
We’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We’re not responsible for loss that isn’t foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
